Po‘lat Mo‘min is known and close to literature enthusiasts, especially the young generation, as a poet and playwright. With his cheerful poems, delightful songs, interesting epics, and fairy tales, he has become one of the favorite poets of children. In 1992, he was awarded the honorary title of People's Writer of Uzbekistan. Po‘lat Mo‘min was awarded the «El-yurt hurmati» order in 1998.
Biography
He was born on December 24, 1922, in the city of Tashkent. He first studied at the pedagogical college. Then, after graduating from the Tashkent State Pedagogical Institute (1944), he worked as a teacher. In 1948-1950, he worked as a literary staff member at newspapers, and from 1951-1952, he worked as the head of the children's literature department at the State Publishing House of Uzbekistan. From 1954-1960, he served at the Writers' Union, and from 1962-1964, at the Arts Administration under the Ministry of Culture. Po‘lat Mo‘min's services to literature were highly valued by the people and the government. In 1992, he was awarded the honorary title of People's Writer of Uzbekistan. In 1998, he was awarded the «El-yurt hurmati» order.
Po‘lat Mo‘min passed away in 2003.
Activities
In 1949, his first collection titled «Sayrang, qushlar» was published. One after another, his collections such as «Bo‘l, tayyor!», «Tish cho‘tkasi ertagi» (1955), «Hunardan unar» (1958), «To‘g‘ri o‘sgan gul bo‘lar» (1960), «Aql qayerda bo‘lar?» (1962), «Oltin nay» (1967), «Rahmatga rahmat!» (1969), «Eson va Omon» (1971), «Odob va oftob» (1971), «Yaxshilarga o‘xshasam», «Gul va Piyoz», «Kuldi xiyol», «Men sevaman, sen sevasanmi?», «Oltin boshoqlar», «66 oltin qo‘l», «Ertakdan ertakka» (1990), «Fardlar kitobi» (1993), and others were published. His last book, «Bolajon, bolajonim», reached readers in 2004.
As a playwright, Po‘lat Mo‘min also created works such as «Qovoqvoy bilan Chanoqvoy» (1970), «Suqatoy va Konfetvoy», and «Bahodirning jasorati».
He was especially known to the nation as a skilled singer-poet. Dozens of the poet's songs, such as «Indamadi», «Onadur ul, onadur», and «Senga bir gap aytaman», have found a place in the hearts of our people with their simplicity and fluency, musicality, and popular appeal.
As a skilled translator, he translated the works of A.S. Pushkin, V. Mayakovsky, S. Marshak, S. Mikhalkov, A. Barto, and N. Nosov into the Uzbek language.
